Proud Moment

Today was one of the proudest moments I've had with A in recent history. Tonight, a man stood up in front of a group of other moms and dads. He asked me, while A was at my side, if she had been respectful and courteous. I was able to say "yes". Because of this, she earned her white belt in karate. In her life she has had done many amazing things, but this was one of the best. She was so proud of herself and was grinning from ear to ear. I knew she could do it and I'm so glad that karate is encouraging the attributes we're trying to teach including self-esteem, self-discipline, focus, etc.

Karate

Well, A started her first week of Tae Kwon Do. She is loving it! She attends class 3 times a week for 30 minutess each session. She had to look up the word "self-discipline" and write ways that she would be more self-disciplined. She has earned three high-fives. When she earns five high-fives then she earns a star. She learned a few kicks, some stances and listening positions. I think it is a really going to be a positive experience for her all around. Pictures to come. I'll keep you posted on how it goes.
